Ambrette is an annual or biennial plant originating in India and tropical regions of Asia and Australasia. The seeds contained in the fruits are harvested from January to April. Ambrette Seeds are cultivated for their musky Essential Oil, which has long been used as a substitute for animal musk in perfumes. The dried seeds are crushed and processed by distillation, yielding an essential oil that becomes soil at room temperature.
The olfactive profile is rich, with musky, sweet, powdery and floral facets. It is also slightly animalic, fruity and anisic, with a good tenacity. Ambrette Seed Oil is widely used as a light musk bottom note for delicate florals, as well as an accessory note in oriental perfumes.
Ambrette is renowned for both its medicinal properties and unique scent. Due to its divine
aroma, Ambrette Seeds oil is known to be very effective in the treatment of depression and anxiety. It is also used by aroma therapist. When used during massages, it immediately relieves spasms and other muscular aches. It is also reported to have the ability to improve blood circulation.
