Our organically crafted Arnica Hydrosol is steam distilled from handpicked large, bright yellow daisy-like flowers of the Arnica montana plant found in the mountainous areas of Europe and North America. Medicinally, Arnica has been celebrated since the 1500s for its remarkable ability to reduce inflammation and to help heal bruises, hematomas, cramps, sprains, muscle pain and stiffness.

Also known as Leopard's Bane, Mountain Tobacco and Wolf's Bane, this perennial alpine plant grows in meadows up to 3,000 feet above sea level in beautiful patches among subalpine conifers of USA, Canada and European Alps. A powerhouse of skin healing actives, Arnica montana, has been used for thousands of years to treat everything from muscle and joint pain, to osteoarthritis, to damaged skin.

REPORTED BENEFITS AND USES

Arnica Hydrosol is popularly used as an ointment or salve for relieving sore muscles, treating sprains and strains, as well as diminishing bruises. It also makes a wonderful salve for helping with joint pain and arthritic conditions. Arnica is a rubefacient, meaning it stimulates and dilates blood vessels, bringing more blood to the area. It is anti-inflammatory and can help to reduce swelling and bruising from injuries, falls, overexertion, blows and trauma to the body where the skin is not broken.
