Our organically crafted Lemon Verbena Hydrosol is steam distilled from the vibrant green leaves of the Aloysia citrodora plant cultivated in parts of rural Morocco. Aloysia citriodora is synonymous with Aloysia triphylla, Lippia citriodora, Verbena citriodora and Verbena triphylla. This exquisite hydrosol has a herbaceous, green, slightly lemony scent profile. Because the yield is very low, and cultivation of Lippia involves considerable problems with regard to climate and other factors, genuine Verbena Hydrosol is comparatively costly.

REPORTED BENEFITS AND USES

Lemon Verbena Hydrosol has powerful calming, sedative properties and makes a great mental relaxant. It is also great for using on the skin and is very pleasant when sprayed on the face as part of a toner. In skin care, Verbena Hydrosol is considered to be revitalizing to normal skin types and balancing. Its stimulating and uplifting nature make it perfect for facial toners and cleansers, after shower sprays, and more.

Lemon Verbena Hydrosol has been known to be a useful digestive aid and commonly used as a tonic. It is also believed to help stimulate the endocrine system, especially the thyroid and pancreas. Verbena Hydrolat has antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties, with a strong affinity for the mucous membranes of the mouth and nose, making it great for use as a daily mouthwash, as well.

Suzanne Catty, author of Hydrosols: The Next Aromatherapy, recommends using Lemon Verbena Hydrosol to help refine skin texture and promote reduced pore size. She also suggests adding lavender, peppermint, or sandalwood to this hydrosol to make a great men's after-shave spray.
