INTRODUCTION

Nutmeg is the fruit of a tree indigenous to the Banda Islands in the Moluccas of Indonesia. Until the middle of the 19th century, these trees were the only source for nutmeg. It now grows in Malaysia, the Caribbean and in India.The first harvest of the nutmeg tree takes place 7 to 9 years after it is planted. Paras sources nutmeg from India and Indonesia.
