Also known as Mountain Cedar, Mexican Cedar or Mexican Juniper, Texas Cedarwood is not a true cedarwood in the sense that it is from trees of the Juniper family. Juniperus mexicana (also known as Juniperus ashei), and has a different chemistry than Himalayan or Atlantic Cedarwood. However, it does have similar therapeutic properties and has that wonderful aroma of a cedar chest.
