Our organically crafted Lemon Balm Hydrosol, also known as Melissa Hydrosol is steam distilled from the wonderfully fragrant flowers and leaves of the Melissa officinalis herb nurtured in the Bulgarian countryside. It has a refreshing, softly floral, lemon-like, herbaceous aroma, lighter and more floral than Melissa Essential Oil. The herb received the name Melissa because of its sweet, fresh, citrus-like fragrance, which is known to attract bees (Melissa is Greek for honey bee)


Best known for its calming effects on emotional distress, Melissa (Lemon Balm) Hydrosol is also beneficial for general skin care, and makes a soothing addition to room and body sprays. Topically, Melissa Hydrosol may be used as a calming agent for rashes, burns, eczema, poison oak or ivy, and other general irritations. It can also be used as a room spray or in a diffuser to help make a very calming and soothing living space.

Lemon Balm Hydrosol is suitable for normal skin and is especially effective in applications for oily skin and in helping to combat problem skin. Melissa Hydrosol is anti-viral and offers anti-inflammatory action. It is also revered for its anti-inflammatory properties can help ease PMS and menstrual discomfort. Its antibacterial properties makes it suitable as a soothing wetting agent for natural baby wipes.
