Our organically crafted Oregano Hydrosol is steam distilled from the delicate, green leaves of the purple-flowering Origanum vulgare herb cultivated in Spain. Oregano Hydrosol has a warm, herbaceous, spicy, mild and green characteristic oregano aroma. This hydrosol is widely used to help reduce the presence of unwanted bacterial, fungal, and viral activity.

Oregano is a very close relative of Marjoram, so much so there is some confusion in the cross-pollination of their names: what is known as Marjoram in Britain turns up as oregano in Italy! This is the pungently aromatic herb of southern Italy, the one that is used, mainly in its dried form, flavour pizzas and tomato sauces. Indeed, Greek cooks are convinced that dried oregano - rigani - is best used in dried and what's more is the only herb worth drying!

Along with helping to purify the body and surrounding environment from unwanted microbial activity, Oregano Hydrosol is fantastic for healthy lung support, especially when one is dealing with a cold or flu. The hydrosol provides anti-oxidant, anti-microbial, insect repellent and analgesic effects for cleansing products, face tonics, hair care preparations against dandruff and after sun care formulations. With its anti-irritant properties, Oregano Hydrosol is safe to use for easily irritated and sensitive skin types.

Emotionally and energetically, Oregano Hydrosol is warming and calming. This hydrosol is pleasantly stimulating to the nervous system and often provides a general feeling of well-being.
